Here you will find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about our procedure.

AROmotion is a micro-procedure that combines Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) to disrupt pain, with an OrthoBiologic injection to help promote healing, and specific physiotherapy for joint reconditioning. We have established an individualized protocol for treating joint pain that is minimally invasive, highly effective, and long lasting. Our goal is to cut out the pain, not the joint. There is virtually zero downtime, and you should be able to walk in and out post-procedure. However, every patient is different, and you may need to rest for a few days before resuming your regular routine.

Knee replacement is a large, non-reversible surgical procedure that requires hospitalization, and general anesthesia. The surgeon saws off the pain-sensing ends of the bone; metal and plastic parts are used to cap the ends of the bones that form the knee joint. Knee replacement requires long recovery periods ranging from several weeks to several months, with a proven 25% failure rate, and should mostly be considered a last-resort option.

The AROmotion procedure was pioneered by us and is exclusive to our practice. We are not a concierge medical clinic as we do not charge membership fees for care by a particular doctor, however, we do provide a concierge-type service.

Throughout the patient's journey, they partner directly with a Board-Certified Medical Doctor, unlike hospitals where they must deal with medical staff first. A Post-Procedure Registered Nurse follows-up within 24 hours with each patient post-procedure, & the doctors work with Physiotherapists  to curate individualized plans to ensure the best and quickest recovery possible.

Over 90% of patients that have knee replacement surgery have mechanically functional joints, and only undergo surgery  to reduce pain. The traditional algorithm of care for an individual with osteoarthritis requires weight loss & exercise, over-the-counter medications, a cortisone shot, and then a rather large jump to joint replacement surgery.  After all these stipulations, at least 25% of patients have more pain and disability post-surgery, for the lifetime of the implant.

With AROmotion however, allowing our board-certified Physicians to look at patients’ X-Rays and provide a second opinion, could lead to a different treatment option. Historically, 22% of the patients that come in for a consultation have a joint that is too far gone, and we recommend a joint replacement procedure.  However, the other 78% of patients, many of whom have been told they “Have to Have ” joint replacement surgery, do remarkably well with our procedure, while keeping their natural joint.

We take a three-step approach combining a micro-procedure to turn off the pain, and different ortho-biologics to promote healing that will be determined by a physician at the time of your consultation. We even do post-procedure reconditioning of your joint with a specific plan, working with a physiotherapist.

We have helped many patients with their arthritic low-back pain. The spine is more complex, hence a consultation with one of our physicians is recommended to determine if you are a candidate for the procedure.

Yes. You’ve likely been told that your only option is surgery, however over 90% of people with bone-on-bone knee pain have a knee that functions mechanically. It is usually arthritis that causes the pain and therefore can be treated without surgery.

Yes, we can work with your physicians to determine if you are a candidate for the procedure.

Immediately after the procedure we have you relax in our office for about 15 minutes with an ice pack before you can head home. There is virtually zero downtime. You will receive a call the following day from our team’s Post-Procedure  Registered Nurse to check-in and answer any questions.

You should then be free to resume daily activities  immediately. It is important to remember that each patient is different, and you might want to rest for the first few days, but the physician will determine specific expectations after evaluating you.

AROmotion is the only long-lasting, non-surgical procedure with 5+  years of patient data consisting of over 3,000  patients that have been treated and returned to their pre-arthritis activities quickly.

We currently have 3 offices in Florida: Tampa, Naples, & The Villages, with plans to expand to other locations.

We are very accustomed to managing care remotely, with many of our patients living both out-of-state and even out-of-the-country.  We would first schedule a remote consultation where we review your X-ray images, to determine potential candidacy prior to any travel.

Insurance may cover a portion of the procedure, but there is an out-of-pocket cost. Any out-of-pocket cost will be determined after the consultation is completed and a recommendation is made.

For any out-of-pocket cost, we do provide financing through CareCredit. CareCredit is a health, wellness, and personal care credit-card that patients can use to finance the care they want and need without delaying appointments or treatment. Subject to qualifying for the card, CareCredit offers up to 18 months of interest-free financing or an extended option, over 60 months, for A.R.O. patients to pay for their procedure in full.
